Candidates for the IBCLC position must possess the ethics, ambition, personality, skills, character, organizational, administrative and presentability needed to represent a practice with a culture of professionalism and concern for San Antonio's breastfeeding families.
Regardless of a candidate's faith-background, it will be expected that the candidate support Breastfeeding Housecalls' passion and mission of being "God's heart and hands in the lives of new families." As His hands and feet in our community, candidates will be expected to show the same loving support to all families regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, marital status, intellectual or physical ability, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, political afilliation or ability to pay for services offered.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS before applying:
Availability: Because this practice is in an expansion stage, we seek 1-2 very flexible IBCLCs available for work every day, often with 4-6 hr daytime notice, with the possibility working daily, yet without an expectation of working every day or at all. Candidates for the position need to be open to seasons of being super busy or super slow, with a progression to being super busy and with stable schedules by fall 2017.
Logistics:
Although team members will be given territories, this position will require travel in and near all of San Antonio, TX during our initial season of growth. Candidates must be comfortable using their own self-insured car (we will pay mileage), to see clients in our office or in their homes.
Health Values:
Candidates for the position must be able to demonstrate complete neutrality in health values, regardless of their personal health values.
Minimum Criteria:
• Have earned and have current an IBCLC certificate
• Possess strong critical thinking skills
• Possess the ability and humility to continue learning
Desired criteria:
• Outpatient lactation consulting or counseling skills (from outpatient hospital, government, private practice setting, or verifiable support group setting).
