Could you be mothering through post-partum depression or anxiety? If so, San Antonio has a TON of resources to help!

The season of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding is usually seen by most as joyous and happy. Although many new mothers enjoy this season, others struggle through feelings like sadness, worry, and loneliness. Mothers with pre-existing mental health disorders, neurodiversity or personality disorders, may see an increase in overstimulation, triggers and symptoms which can impact their interactions with their babies and also with those loving through the new-mother season.

While it's normal to experience some form of 'baby blues' or even heightened concern for your new little person’s thrive, and while it’s normal to feel overwhelmed with shorter nights, it’s when sadness, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or even changes in behavior toward others last more than what is common, you may need the extra support that perinatal mood-disorder therapists can provide.
Below is a list of therapists who offer support in and near San Antonio. Just because they’re listed here, doesn’t mean The Breastfeeding House is referring you to them. Use your own mama-gut to discern which provider will best support you.
