The season of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding is usually seen by most as joyous and happy. Although many new mothers enjoy this season, others struggle through feelings like sadness, worry, and loneliness. While it's normal to experience some form of 'baby blues' or even heightened concern for your new little person’s thrive, when sadness, anxiety or intrusive thoughts last more than a few weeks after delivery, or when it interferes with caring for yourself or your baby, you may need the extra support that perinatal mood-disorder therapists can provide.
