What is relationship-based lactation consulting?
“Relationship-based lactation consulting” isn’t a big fancy credential or accredited style. It’s just simply how The Breastfeeding House practices and it’s what the clients that seek us out want most.
We take our clients on as cases and see them through all challenges.
When families come to us, they won’t be told just to “keep doing what they’re doing, sweetie.” Or that “that latch looks good, we don’t know what else it could be.”. We also don’t just focus on numbers and diaper counts, or wait until other providers can treat you before optimizing your circumstances. Sadly, this is what we hear from clients who come to us after exhausting other resources…and because I know personally how deep of a mark that feeling of “I wasn’t cared enough about.” leaves on a mother-heart, it’s why I and anyone who practices at The Breastfeeding House do things differently.
We’re affectionate, we’re warm, we care and while we might know a thing or two, we check our ego at the door.
We believe that parents are the experts on their babies, and that our role is simply to be alongside them, helping them piece together and recognize what they already know and feel.
