As moms we want the best for our daughters, and when it comes to education about her developing body it's hard to know when and where to start and even more difficult to counter the negative images of womanhood presented by our culture. Our daughters are often told that their value is based on their outward appearance, that their fertility is an inconvenience that should be suppressed or medicated, or maybe that they should be ashamed to discuss what makes them uniquely women. We moms would like to come together to empower our daughters with the knowledge of the goodness and purpose of their bodies.

This is the goal of a new Mom and daughter club. We will use the science-based Mom of Preteens curriculum, created by Natural Womanhood, to give our daughters a positive image of womanhood so that they feel confident, supported and loved. There are a total of 10 lessons in the course that we will use to learn from and to guide small group discussion. This course is designed to foster open communication between moms and daughters on these intimate topics.  This curriculum is appropriate for young girls entering puberty or those already well into their teens that still have questions about how their cycle and hormones work, how this all impacts their emotions and overall wellbeing, how to know when something is not right and where to get help.

We will host an information session just for moms on Friday, November 3rd at 7pm. At this intro meeting we will give further information about the course, reflect on our own experience entering puberty, and talk about what we hope the experience will be like for our daughters. And of course, as with any fun girl's night out, there will be snacks and fun time for socializing.

The moms-only information session is free, and the cost of the 10-month club is $99.

    Because onsite space is limited, we ask that you RSVP ASAP to let us know that you'll be joining us! While this information session has the option to meet virtually, future workshops and meetings with our daughter's will be in-person.

Meet Jackie, your CycleMindedness Facilitator

Jackie Aguilar is the Director of Education for Natural Womanhood. Jackie is a trained FertilityCare Practitioner instructing women and couples in the Creighton model, and a certified Sympto-thermal method instructor with the Couple to Couple League. Jackie also holds a degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University.  As a former Zumba instructor, she enjoys salsa dancing with her husband, with whom she has 5 children.
